Tribute to Scottish Women

The Scottish Executive's Equality Unit wish to procure a sculpture that will be a permanent tribute to the past achievements and ongoing contribution of Scottish women - of all ages, from all backgrounds and with different abilities - in improving women's lives and advancing democracy.  The sculpture will be displayed in the Scottish Parliament from December 2006 in an area of the Parliament that is accessible to the public.  It is no coincidence that 2006 is the centenary year of the Scottish Women's Suffragette Federation - and the fact that almost 40% of MSP's are women shows just how far women have come in the last hundred years.  This is a prestigious creative opportunity for a professional, established artist who has relevant experience for a commission of this nature.  If you would like more information about this opportunity details can be found at:   http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/Government/SPD/17424/SculptureAdvert2

Modern Vision is a pioneering new service for clients who wish to commission
original limited edition wall paintings for public and corporate spaces.  We are
building a collection of work from both established and emergent artists, to
provide a diverse and original collection.

Modern Vision is being developed by established commissioning agency Ginkgo
Projects as a way of introducing contemporary art to a wide audience.

We welcome work from artists of all backgrounds; submissions must be within the
specifications outlined in the artist’s brief.  A fee of £300 will be paid for
every full-scale work commissioned, up to a maximum of 100 editions.
