Accessible Artist Studios (Dorset)
Are you a visual artist looking for fully accessible studio space in a
unique rural location with accommodation and an award winning exhibition
space available on site?

Holton Lee will be opening four purpose built, fully accessible artist
studios in a refurbished stable block in July 2004 The 4 fully equipped
studio spaces will provide facilities for sculpture, digital arts and fine
art. A new common room, with kitchen and bathroom will be added to
provide space for artists and visitors to discuss and view work in
progress.

The spaces are fully accessible and consideration has been given to the
space and light requirements of the various art forms. The studio site
comprises an old stable block, outside courtyard space and open sided
Dutch Barn. The Dutch barn will provide outside workspace and workshop
space.

Holton Lee is situated just outside Poole in Dorset. The Charity occupies
a 350 acre site overlooking shores of Poole Harbour and much of the land
has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

In addition to the new artist studios we also provide on site fully
accessible accommodation (with personal assistance if required), a
pottery/ceramic studio, 350 acres for site specific work, a newly
constructed, award winning exhibition space and a refurbished farmhouse
for training and to house the beginnings of our permanent collection of
Disability Art Works.

Disabled artists who apply for space will be eligible to be considered
for the Holton Lee Bursary Scheme. Artists are encouraged to seek funding
to cover the cost of their residency through their local Arts Council
Office, Local Authority and other external funding sources.

Studio space is also available for artists and groups interested in short
term hire of the space including day hire, evening classes, workshops etc.
